On March 31, 2022, University of Nairobi students were taken through a two-hour interactive session discussing issues of sexual and reproductive health among the youth, Gender Based Violence, alcohol and drug abuse.

The session which was a warm-up for the University Health Day, scheduled for April 7, 2022 at the Chancellor's Court, was organized by University Health Services (UHS) hosted in partnership with Nairobi Women’s Hospital and National Authority for the Campaign against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA).

Senior Medical Officer, Psychiatrist Andrew Kariuki, who spoke on behalf of UHS Director, Dr. Lucy Muhia, said that the activities for the Health Day will include health talks, medical examinations, screening for illnesses and treatment. The event will be open to all the university staff and students.

Dr. Becky one of the facilitators from Nairobi Women’s Hospital, Hurlingham branch and an alumni of the University of Nairobi talked about reproductive health in-depth, something that she said was considered a non-issue by many people until recent times.
